IS THERE A SINGLE PERSON in DOB that can look at this outcome and say the setback guidelines are having a positive outcome in practice??? Just look at that!!! There's is ZERO reason that building couldn't have met the existing streetwall most or even all the way up. The amount of hideous scars to the streetwall are really starting to take its toll. WHY isn't something being done. Landmarks will send a design back to the architect half a dozen times to improve on some minute detail yet absolute soul sucking dreck like this setback travesty exposing and leaving unaddressed party walls like nobody GIVES A SHIT are happening all over Manhattan.

The architecture looks good. The cantilever/bay windows unfortunately ensures the turd next door will be with us for years.

Interesting Section in Today's NYTimes about NY Skyline

Maybe somebody could link the special section of the Sunday NY Times (6/9) about the history of the Manhattan skyline.

Smile NEW YORK | 2300 Cropsey Avenue | FT | 24 FLOORS

Project: 2300 Cropsey Avenue

Quote:
Queens-based Michael Kang Architect has revealed the first renderings of 2300 Cropsey Avenue in Bath Beach, Brooklyn. Located at one of the southern-most points of the borough, the new building will rise 24 stories and contain a mix of 154 condominium units, a community facility, and a large parking structure designed to accommodate 270 vehicles.

Amenities are expected to include a bike room, an open-air roof deck above the podium levels, and fitness facilities.

The building replaces an abandoned structure that once functioned as a nursing home for senior citizens. This iteration of the development is slightly smaller than the original permits filed in 2014, which called for a 170-unit building and a 337-vehicle parking garage. While interior components have been altered, the project team does not seem to have changed.

W&L Group, the developer responsible for the new residential building, has not yet confirmed an anticipated date of completion.
