I wonder how many units have been rented so far? Hopefully they will start on the Margaretta soon, which looks better to me - https://www.wmfares.com/margaretta
The mismatched curtains and window dressings indicate that the building is filling up quickly.
my complaint is finding parking. but to be fair to the archtiect, he did not choose the exterior materials. the developer Banc did and they normally make their own decisions on building material purchases. they also manage and contract out labor. This is common with developers. On the other hand, with govt., commercial or instutional projects, architects get involved directly with the specification of the exterior and there is much more control off and on-site. there is also an argument that this adds to the cost as Unions get more involved.
This one is especially strange because Banc designed the interiors, but Fares designed the exterior. I'm not sure who actually managed construction.
We were in the library yesterday, and I looked across the street at this to see, and it looked to me like most of the units were occupied on the Queen St side (although the top floor might or might not be). Regardless, it seemed to be fairly well occupied.
Construction has started on the Margaretta. The pedestrian walkways were installed yesterday. I also noticed that one of my favourite restaurants, Sushi Nami Royale, is going into the Queen Street side of the Mary-Anne.
Excavation is progressing well with a lot of the easy top layer gone. I notice blasting mats have been delivered to the site so some serious digging should soon begin.
