Barely....

There's some cool things going on in Victory, and especially the uptown area. But, as far as downtown goes, its still shockingly dead for as huge a city as Dallas is. It's sad too, because downtown (as you can see) is architecturally gorgeous. But, even with the recent renovations of some buildings into condos and apartments and such, and a couple hotels that have opened, it's pretty void of any true urban life.


But..there's hope that soon enough that'll change.

It's a difficult process in this city. The population is so very sub-urban minded, and besides that, there's nothing to really draw people to live down there, other than views. There's very little retail or restaurants (remember, this is in comparison to any other cities this size) or anything. But, at the same time, the retail and restuarants don't wanna open up down there, because there's no people. Most of what IS down there now, closes at like 7:00pm.

So, I guess we'll just have to see what happens in coming years. But, honestly, most dallasites seem pretty happy with their sub-urban life style.

I am not one of them, lol
