Speaking of old photos, we were in South Granville recently & noticed the demolition of the bunker like Free Masons Centre has finished. We're glad Vancouver city council unanimously voted to fund the building's non-market homes, even if a few councillors were hesitant to do so

They were originally planning to take down the Masonic hall much faster but encountered difficulties as it was too tough.

I went with a friend to an Open House at the condo across the street and like a good SSPer used the opportunity to take a pic.

Does it look like there's a giant opening under the white building on the left?

Gee I wonder why they can't rent out those overpriced suites in the renovated heritage building, maybe it's because most of the suites will face a very close building on both sides, it should have been incorporated into the Masonic redevelopment. They have lowered the prices but still has vacancies in such a small building that was completed over a year ago.

Given how close they are the noise and vibration must be brutal.

One reason is because its heritage, the other is because the Masonic development is a non-profit and thus they don't have deep pockets.
