So no helipad? That would be fantastic. Finally a skyscraper without a flat top or big ugly square with a number on it.

can we be sure that's a new design? It looks almost exactly like the old one...

If so it looks kinda cool, a roof more than just a few feet taller than USBT would have been nice though

Will it still have the skypool on the 70th floor? I find it hard to imagine they could fit it there?

i believe that the roof height will still be taller than the USB tower, and i also think the infinity pool will be added.

There is a new sign up on the 7th street side of the Wilshire Grand detailing the plans to de construct the standpipes in the building as the structure starts to come down. Not really exciting, but shows that things are slowly but surely moving forward.

Spoke with another security guard at the Wilshire Grand today.

Nothing is left inside the building. Right now they're in the process of asbestos removal, but it's going to take a while; the entire demolition process will take somewhere from 1 to 1.5 years.

He said that fencing is supposed to go up around the building sometime within September-October, though.

^Asbestos most likely. That and some of the new building codes which require a substantial portion of demolition waste to be recycled rather than just done away with.

If there is indeed asbestos remediation to be done in a building that large, expect that to take 6 months by itself. But hey, good things come to those who wait...

It doesn't look super duper tall, not much taller than the current tallest, but should still be an amazing addition to the skyline for sure!

I think it'll be taller than us bank.. maybe not the roof itself but if u look closely at the rendering there's a spire, which will give it even more height

I'm guessing the roof itself is taller or about the same height judging by the 7-800 foot buildings around it

The adjacent Ernst and Young building is 534' tall. The rendering has the Wilshire Grand at significantly more than double that. I think the design is shooting for the full 1250 feet.

Will be a great addition to the skyline. Not only is the design interesting but the placing and height of the building among the surrounding towers are great!

The Wilshire and Figueroa Building is 719 feet tall and it's right across the street from Wilshire Grand.

This is going to be a VERY tall building. It's also going to have to have a bold street presence seeing as how Wilshire and Figueroa is such a busy intersection plus the fact that the area is a bit hilly.
