Thanks Coldrsx for the Edmonton photo. Stantec has such perfect proportions combined with the flat glass facade makes it such an attractive building on a skyline. Brookfield in Calgary, although different has a similar appeal.
FrAnks - not surprised you liked St. Ann’s
Maybe a familiar building style for those in Quebec? The original section was built in 1858 for the Sisters of Saint Anne who came from Lachine, Quebec during the gold rush and it was designed by Father Joseph Michaud, was designed many buildings in Montreal and Burlington Vermont. More about him
here.
The front of the building and the gardens and orchard is more impressive, but harder to capture because of the trees in the way. It looks across to St. Joseph’s hospital (built in 1876) which is now an apartment building which you can see in this picture:

Laceoflight - good summary of Victoria! I don’t own a car, in fact rarely take a bus. I can walk everywhere I need to and there is so much to see and do within a 2 km circle of downtown including quiet nature trails (well you can still hear the sirens of the city) and beaches that I could never get bored. Nearly all of the photos I post are within a 30 minute walk of my place, most within 15 minutes. Hop on a bike and half an hour gets me a whole other world of great options.
