One of the reasons I love this tower is the fact that from the South and East there's practically nothing to block views of it. It's a single shape sticking way up. From I-35 it's a direct view. The materials are also much better than its neighbors and it's much more "traditional rectangle" than our other tallest two which I like.

Totally agree. It's also extremely prominent and impressive from E Riverside Dr.

I especially like that this tower brings more height diversity in the Rainey cluster.

Spring looks so small against block 185. Spring was one of the favorite towers built. 44 east still looks big even though its much further away.

That may take the cake as the top view from Rainey looking west. Given that it's a bit south of others it has a better skyline shot but doesn't sacrifice the hills and river.

Wow. What a unique view of the skyline. I absolutely love that!

It's a mortal sin we don't have a high level obso deck/restaurant tower at this point.

Yeah, agreed! Austin's skyline is getting impressive. Less gaps and nice clusters!! Going down first is really impressive. It wasn't busy for me doing Lyft rides this morning so I nerded out and circled 6XG and gawked and just enjoyed the beauty of block 185. I'm loving the architecture!!

44 East Avenue Tops Out 49 Floors of Condos in the Rainey Street District

https://austin.towers.net/44-east-av...reet-district/

Here’s a late-breaking news update you tower-minded folks will be happy to hear — the downtown Austin condo tower at 44 East Avenue by developers Intracorp has officially celebrated its topping out at the southern edge of the Rainey Street District.

Someone working on the 44 East project sent me this. This is the project that should have a public observation deck.
