The notice of appeal was printed in Saturday's Herald so we should know if it has the complete go-ahead by September 5th.

EDIT: After a careful re-read of the notice i believe that this one cannot be appealed. Unlike the other approval notices this one did not state someone can appeal the project and it stated that the ammendments were official as of the date of the approval notice.

So I guess this has the go-ahead. If we are lucky we might see a crane before the New Years

Just an update:

There was another notic today stating everything is clear for this to go ahead.

Anyone want to bet when this will start construction? I'll say Late Spring 2009.

You might be right. Something is wrong with the approval notices that keep on getting repeated. Both the Trillium and this one have been constantly repeated. Does anyone know if this was the real deal or the one from Aug. 18 the real one?

Man these repeating ads are really irritating...

I think there is a 14 day appeal period after it is approved by council. So if no one appeals within 14 days after Sept. 9 then there can be no appeal made.

The 14 day clock started ticking on the 9th I believe. Greenwood Lane didn't publish it I believe because they wanted to keep it hush hush.

Any idea of a timeline for construction of this development?

It would be great to get rid of that empty lot and to have something next to the Maritime Centre.

The credit crunch is putting everything on hold. I doubt we'll see any of these large projects started anytime soon. Just ask the developers..it is VERY difficult to get these buildings underwritten nowadays.

Yeah, lets all keep our fingers crossed that the US economy makes it through this tough time and some liquidity opens up in the markets.

Pretty happy that Trillium snuck in.

Even with the bailout bill past its going to be tough for sometime, probably a year at least.

Trillium hasn't snuck in yet, the developer was saying in the same article that he's waiting a few weeks to see how the mortgage market is.

True say, however optimism is important here. The reality of the credit crisis was way overblown and fear has driven alot of this tightening up, not issues associated to access to capital. It is really sad how this is impacting Canadian real estate markets from coast to coast because in reality our economy is really quite impressive.

Lets be positive.

That's a very old pdf, maybe from 2003 or so. The original proposal was for a 27 storey tower instead of 21 as it is now.

I like the arcades in the original Salter's Gate design more than the ones in the version that was finally built. The corner in the final version looks better than the rendering, however.

So has anyone heard anything about this building lately?

This is one of the projects I'd love to see go up because of the state of the site right now. That parking lot is a disgrace to the waterfront. I really hope it is still plannning to be built.
