O-Train Fans posted the Fall 2020 update for Confederation and Trillium Lines Stage 2 :

Here are a few images from the Confederation update. They seem to be about a month or so outdated.

Site of the future Montreal Road station. The highway is being shifted outwards to accommodate the median station.

Lincoln Fields flyover where the line splits between the Moodie and Algonquin braches.

Ongoing construction at the future site of the Parkway-Byron tunnel portal.

Progress at Place d'Orléans station. They are currently widening the highway trench, presumably to shift the 174 out and make room for the O-Train platform and tracks.

More images on O-Train Fans, including the existing bus facilities on both sides of the 174.

I have mixed feelings. One of the best rapid transit trains in Canada in terms of design an layout, but when compared to the Montreal Metro Azure, the Metropolis falls short. It's not fair to compare with the Azure, but I can't help it.

How does it fall short?

It is an interesting choice of colour scheme. Looks like it belongs to Metrolinx.

Compared to the Azure. If the Azure was never introduced, the Metropolis might be the hands down best rolling stock in Canada, competing for the title with the Vancouver Mark IIII. Compared to the Azure, it looks basic with a better than average colour scheme.

The one thing that's better with the Metropolis are the plentiful grab bars near the ceiling, though they look a bit high.

Construction at Gladstone (or Corso Italia) station.

IIRC TNEXT needs to hand the access road to some loading docks back to the Airport near the end of the fall -- From the progress photos and videos we've seen I think that may be possible(?) seeing as they've already put up the girders and stuff.

I was a bit surprised at how late they started at South Keys though.. IIRC they had similar timeline requirements from the NRC but last I've seen South Keys was still completely dug up, and I'm not sure how fast they can commission a track through there.

Beyond that though, TNEXT appears to have gotten a lot done just in the past couple of weeks and a lot of the sites are quite active. Work at Carleton is progressing, and at Gladstone they've installed some scaffolded stairs for easier access to the trench which hopefully means they plan to get more done before the winter really sets in.

Besides Hamilton, what other city is likely to get new RT/LRT that currently doesn't have any existing or already under construction?

Halifax
Quebec City

Winnipeg has a small chance of transitioning from BRT to LRT.

Saskatoon has approved a BRT plan.

Kelowna and Regina are both exploring BRT

Only in a theoretical sense. There isn't even a plan on the table, let alone funding. Absolute 100% best case scenario we are at least 20 years out from any kind of rail based transit. 30-40 years is a more realistic timeline.

Ha! You and I both know that the COW won't upgrade anything. If anything, they'll wait until the technology is so old that it seems quaint and then the city will try to pass it off as some sort of old timey charm.

Don't know if it counts since it's a suburb of Ottawa, but Gatineau. It currently has BRT but they are currently planning a new LRT line (Valley Line style) from Aylmer to Downtown Ottawa.

Plus the integrated downtown Gatineau/Ottawa loop that is creating so much discussion on the Ottawa forum. Exciting times over here!

London has approved 3 BRT segments (South, East, Downtown Loop) in a planned 5-segment network and aims to start construction in 2021. Sudbury is also exploring BRT, a very ambitious move for a city of its size.

I think it counts as it's a completely different operator with no administrative relationship with OC Transpo (in Ottawa), nor is it an extension of the O-Train system.
