They removed part of the spire so that the crane can pass over the top of the building to continue delivering pieces of facade for them to install. They will be reinstalling the rest of the spire when done. But that should be in a few months. Maybe by Summer or just before?

It's a shot from later last year, notice the top piece of the spire is still on

I was also wondering if the upper tower will glow with the sunlight hitting it when finished. Perhaps the glass is too reflective to allow enough light to penetrate through to the other side. I might be a cool effect if the opposite glass is illuminated however. This is one beautiful building.

That could be a mechanical floor, but the office floors are of various heights, for marketing purposes (SL Green explained this in one of the videos). It's one of the reasons the tower is so tall despite the relatively low number of floors.

There was an article in Crains about the spire. Maybe someone will get it.

Meanwhile, I see that Vandy doesn't get a mention in the new 30 Hudson deck brochure. That's fair I guess. It isn't completed.

Oh boy...hints of completed look happening...cladding covering most of the obs deck floors on the west face, looking impressive even with the still truncated spire. Can't wait for May.

1 Vandy construction is still on schedule, maybe even ahead as they were 6 months ago. The top 2 spire pieces went up, and then down, really quickly. There is a cost but I imagine it's baked into the total no problemo.

Chris Ward shouldn't be allowed to speak of spires ever again in life.

About 1020-1050 feet or 310-320 meters since it takes up a few floors.

I have tried to like this building but just can't. It's so bulky and the crown just looks skimpy and plopped onto the design in a way that isn't at all cohesive. The toothpick on top is even sadder.
