I've been getting the same feedbacks from scity and here that my presentations eclipse my models so to those who wanted to see the tower without the graphics and such, here are two of the untouched preliminary renders.

Thanks for the votes guys! Each of the tower sections or 'bamboo' halves has 52 floors each. There are 208 floors in total.

cool it actually looks talller now and my
prediction is coming true that you will probaly win nearly all the
comps in both ssc and ssp and so you nearly have so congrats
.......just tone down the graphics in some of the final renders
but not all ,looking at the pic above the model speaks for itself.

Actually i would like to vote, but is done. Anyway, here my impressions.

- The biggest problem this comp and buildings of more than the Range 300m-500m, which i actually do not like, is the thin proportions the base compare to altitude, which makes them unproportional. If all those were 300m, then all would be much nicier.

- I conclude the same of Dac, those are buildings for next generation of Sci-Fi films, but i think Fantasy is the main role our world, to make it different than this spread boring things we see daily in all over the world today cities.

- My Vote goes to this new interpretation of late modern Art Deco as #1 and #2 for the Minaret new Meccah, #3 for the Trident in Beijing, why:

1- Totally boring and a copy & paste of the Busan tower or the new Shanghai Supertall.
2- Shape and details are impressive, but the problem is the twin repetition which make a second Mekkah religious impering. If would be just one Minaret, the religious part would be not so evident and more interesting with height. If would be single, it would get my vote.
3- If is a green building, seems me a huge high slum, but... Too much work for Graphic Design Presentation and less in Architecture, which is not the Goal.
4- The most interesting in shape volumes resgating the minimal concepts of the most old beautiful Art-Deco in a new future interpretation, so my vote. Anyway, Seems Retro Design the best design tendencies of today, taking the best of past in more interesting technologies forms.
5- Yeah, actually very nice, but too thin in all 4 points in top. It is like Evil came from inside Earth and built his empire in this one, so new Evil Corp. It would be good in 200m height only.
6- Totally boring and again a simpler Copy & Paste many old tall concepts.
7- For a comic would be ok. Seems some Russian things as well.

Can't wait to see what's next. Usually I have a ton of time after finals, which will end around mid-December.

Okay, so I've been really tired lately and I don't bother to post here but I've sent a PM to the winner and I'll start the thread before Friday.

I don't know how to feel commenting since I didn't care to visit (believe, busy).

In a nutshell this comptetition makes for some decent FX movie stills

1)lean.
2)I thought of some sort of future Vegas wedding cake, but over-elaborated candlesticks is more like it. Minarets that high is a scary thought.
3) I'm sure you're getting somewhere with your skins. Drop the green for being green, and continue the organic elements of your designs.
4) Nice interior rendersl, a future Art Deco or something. Do you remember the game Discworld Noir?
5) It honestly looks like a crossbreed between the Ryukong Hotel in Pyongyang and the Juche monument in the same city.

6) Would have voted for this one. It instantly reminded me of SkyCity1000 and I love that City Building. Of all the crazy projects Japan has shown us, the piled toroids or neighborhood cakes makes the most sense. I think I've been handrawing versions of this one for a maybe 7 years? more? I honestly congratulate you for making it 3D, and it's encouraged me to do my version.
After all what's a tallest building in these times if not a new kind of vertical urbanism?

7) Cool graphics, are they for the same movie as the twins in number 2?

Meh, the college semester is only a few weeks in for most people. I am busy with a lot of things.

We could always do a "zombie proof" competition. Make something that would stop zombies from getting in!

I dunno.
