I'm optimistic in the assumption that these power lines will be gone upon completion. They looks horrible. Just bury them.

I think the office building is going to look much taller than I anticipated.

It looks like it's about halfway up (to 32 floors ?) and if so it's certainly going to be taller than shown in the 'final' renderings!

I estimated that it's halfway too.

Ha, you're correct! I almost forgot how much w ptree slopes up there. I guess the building height hasn't increased.

Is 32 floors correct? I know that articles have referenced 31 or 32 floors, but this is inconsistent with both the current renderings and floor area allocations, which suggest 26-27 floors?

No renderings suggest 26/27 stories that I’m aware of. Easiest way to count the stories is the X frames along the south side of the building. Each full X appears to represent 8 stories. Top X ends above the final floor of office space. There’s conflicting renderings of 30 and 32 floors on 1105 WP’s website.

The http://1105westpeachtree.com page shows a rotating rendering featuring 6, full 4-story truss sections above the lowest 3-story truss section (total of 27 floors). The lower section contains the double height lobby level. If it has a mezzanine, that could arguably count as an extra level and push the count up to 28 (I should have said 27/28 rather than 26/27).

Granted, renderings for illustrative purposes aren't always accurate, but a sub-30 story floor count is consistent with the stated floor sizes. The webpages says the building will have 675k total sq feet with 27k per floor, so comes to 25 floors of rentable space. Throw in the lobby level and assume the floor plate size was rounded up and that could get you an extra floor or two, bringing us back to ~27/28 floors.

I think reviewing how I’m thinking will help you and me. I’m thinking first floor starts on the northeast and 32nd “floor” Is the top of the crown as depicted in the first rendering. First rendering had fully stretched out X at top. Cannot see the bottom clearly in renderings I post, but we can from photos on the ground.

Thanks. The upper left rendering looks like a better match to what's being built based on the position of the truss segments relative to the parking deck. However, the floor count still looks the same since I would only count that top truss section as 1 floor. The rest of that upper section is either completely open air or only partially enclosed by the extended glass curtain wall. Based on the shift of the truss segments, the bottom section appears to be 2 floors - or 3 three if we want to count the lobby level as 2 floors since there is probably a mezzanine level for the south entrance.

Similarly, for the two other renderings, I would not count the smaller upper truss segment as actual floors since its just an extension of the curtain wall. The bottom section could be 3 or 4 floors, depending on the arrangement of the lobby level.

I try to keep up with developments so please excuse me if this has been covered before. It looks like something is under construction in front of the Northside Medical building (west of it). Does anyone know what that is? That Northside Medical building BTW is where my primary care doc is.

It's the Greenstone office and residential project. I think it broke ground at the beginning of the year.
