Mile High Tower Location

If you were to build a mile high tower, where would it be? If you picked other, post what would be your location, so it can be counted at the final results.

I'd put it either in Hong Kong, Shanghai or Manhattan.

Hong Kong because the land is so expensive there that it really is the most financially feasible place for a mile high tower to get built. If I'm not mistake HK is home to the most expensive land in the world so building way up is a necessity.

Shanghai because its quickly becoming the skyscraper capital of the world. The supertall trio there is absolutely beautiful and something twice the size of the Shanghai Tower could be a aesthetic reality one day.

New York because it is so vibrant, dynamic and beautiful. What has housed a dozen world's tallest titles deserves to hold one more.

That being said I think the first mile high tower will be built in Dubai or somewhere else in the Middle East. They know nothing, but excess when it comes to skyscrapers.

Neither. I've changed my mind again. Little Rock, Arkansas. Walmart will build a 10,000 storey tower, with each floor representing a store.

Unfortunately I misread the question and chose the wrong city.

Can somebody take back my vote?

But what stores would be on each floor? I pick Philly. It would depend where the building would be located in Philly though.

Los Angeles, but only if it was on a man-made island like other visionary towers.
