Was down at the site earlier. Excavation is well underway, and shoring is up on the north side of the site. Anyone know how deep the parking is? I'd expect this one to be at grade level in the fall at this rate.

Story on Emblem with excerpt on two sites in Hamilton ..

1 Jarvis, 41 Wilson in Hamilton
All 354 units in downtown Hamilton’s Studio JCI-designed 15-storey 1 Jarvis condo were sold in less than 48 hours, according to Pashootan. Construction started within four months and is expected to complete in Q1 2024.

EMBLEM’s next Hamilton development, 41 Wilson, will be much more ambitious. It will be comprised of three 30-storey towers that will house approximately 1,500 units on a site primarily occupied by a surface parking lot as well as a community centre and an auto shop. The property fronts Wilson, Hughson and John Streets and is a five-minute walk from 1 Jarvis.

Pashootan said EMBLEM is still working through the design details for 41 Wilson, but noted it will have impressive design, finishes and amenities.

Pashootan calls Hamilton a “fresh canvas” for EMBLEM to work on and government investment in public transit and infrastructure adds to its appeal — particularly downtown and on the waterfront.

I'm surprised by the Q1 2024 completion date. I would have thought at least a year sooner than that.

That’s 2.5 years from now.. seems pretty reasonable to me. It’s actually almost refreshing to see a developer give an actually accurate timeline.

The complex will feature 156 residential parking spots which will be stacked on the ground level, while others will be located on the mezzanine level.
Looks like no underground parking for this one, so I imagine this will reach grade quite quickly. Likely just one floor below grade for some mechanical equipment.

For reference, Kiwi Condos which also has no underground parking, was at a similar stage to this project early June 2020. Kiwi reached grade level early October 2020, and the second floor was up end of November 2020. So expect 1 Jarvis to rise quite quickly as well.

It is quite impressive how fast this development was announced and started! Yet we have The Connoly development on James St just sitting there going nowhere. I'm glad developers like this don't mess around!

I can't recall, did 1 Jarvis end up sharing a wall with Kiwi to save them both a bit of money?

Looks from the aerial photo like there will be 2-3 metres separation

A few photos I took on Thursday, September 2nd.

At the speed Emblem is moving at, one has to wonder if they're trying to become the CentreCourt of the 905s...

That is just the outside of the corkscrew ramp for the above grade parking levels.

They were pouring concrete this morning. I would assume it was the slab footing.

Bit of both. They've started pouring the main slab, and also the crane footings. Looks like they'll be two. This development is flying along, much faster than I expected.

Here's some aerial shots from today for all of your viewing pleasure.

Maple, you should post your pictures to the main Canadian construction thread too, I'm sure folks would appreciate the views.
