Not a huge fan of the designs, but more vacant lots disappearing. Two buildings on Chicago Avenue between Hudson and Sedgwick. For some reason, the unremarkable building in the middle of the site will remain.

Sedgwick - 59 condos, retail, 71 parkings spots

Hudson - 133 apartments, retail, 37 parking spots

Those designs are forgettable(par for the course in that area), but decent infill creeping closer to the big lots of Cabrini. Feels like every year another block gets chipped away at... hopefully something properly ambitious is developed on a couple of those spaces. Hell, I'd take a beautiful park even, doesn't have to be skyscrapers.

there is also a holdout building on Division & Howe that has fascinated me for years, just like this one on Chicago & Sedgewick... do people live there? reminds me of an old bugs bunny episode

Definitely not great designs, but decent infill. Are you sure it's not between Hudson and Kingsbury? Between Hudson and Sedgwick is the Jesse White Community Center & Field House which was built only 5 years ago. Doubt they'd tear that down. Between Hudson and Kingsbury is that city farm type of thing which makes more sense.

The buildings are on the south side of Chicago Ave, not the north side.

Is this river even clean enough to attempt such a project?

But yes, the Main Stem of the river is relatively clean nowadays because it gets fresh clean water from the lake every time the locks are opened, meaning 10-20 times a day during summer. I don't think there's any untreated effluent or even stormwater, except maybe from adjacent sidewalks and plazas, going into the Main Stem these days.

Inching ever closer to Chicago Ave being completely built up between the Lake and the River!

What is going up on that parking lot at Illinois and Rush again? I see a crane there but i dont remember what the final design for it was. Is that just a new addition to the mall still?
