Welcome back. Industrial City sounds great!

I do have a suggestion. I'd like to see more roof details, especially antennas.

Haha, looks great. Finally an update. I would be a little scared in a city with massive skyscrapers full of companies than can make or break my life.

Thumbs up

Thanks guys for all the feedback. Just to clarify with the name, the name of this satellite city is Industry City.

That is a good idea Peter. For some reason I always get lazy when it comes to roof details, but now that I'm making smaller scale buildings it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks Alek. I love cities like that. To me isn't doesn't get any better than being on a street surrounded my tall imposing corporate boxes. I love the powerful and intimidating vibe. That's why my favorite area of Manhattan is 6th Avenue from Bryant Park to Central Park.

Thanks Patrick. I love Century City. The satellite city concept in general I find to be very good. It breaks things up a bit and extends the skyline. I've never been to LA, but when I eventually develop a high-rise there, I might also stick one in Century City as well.

I'll try to get the grid done by today. Now that the AC is installed I can finally focus and not be distracted by these 95 degree temperatures. I normally love hot weather, but these last few days have been too much.

New Grid

Here is the new and improved grid for Sprianbrook. Industry City will be located north of Fahrenheit Park, and the city-center will be located on the plots that you see in the overhead shot. I want to paste all the buildings into this area first before I start on Industry City. I will work on Industry City in a separate file and then paste it into this one.

On the left is the four lane 'Motor Parkway', with Riverside Park to its left. Motor Parkway branches off of the Taconic Expressway, which is located further up north. To the right is Riverside Drive. Riverside Drive branches off of the Sprainbrook Parkway, located further up north as well.

At the tip of the island the road that seems to be heading into the Housatonic River is actually the beginnings of the Sprainbrook Tunnel.

The white area in the middle of Riverside Park will be a corporate center, possible the WorldCom Compound. The other blank area (in concrete) to the right will eventually be a pier.
(Scroll Right >> >> >> >> >>)

I will post an update of the first buildings on the grid later on today.

Thank you guys. Here are just a few shots showing some of the buildings that I've placed on the plots. You will see a mixture of new buildings and ones from the previous version of Sprainbrook. I'm not finished yet, so there are buildings from the previous version that are yet to make an appearance. I will talk about every building in detail in a later update.

(Scroll Right >> >> >> >> >>)

Enjoy guys! Tell me what you think.

I really like the two green buildings individually but right next to each other? it seems a little too strong, IDK thats just me.
and i like the building all the way to the left in the first pic.

I love IHMT, I hate the light lime building (altought if you changed the color it would look like Verizon's building on on "that" square in mid lowerr manhattan.
I don't like the arches of the "M" brick building either. They would be fine for a low rise thought. I love the JAckson Steinway building, it's sooo you.
Anyway, keep it up!

Thank you treras. The reason that both those building are green is because on the Avenue behind them there will be a wall of taller black and grey boxes. I just wanted to add some color in the mix.

That building is called 1 Bayside Plaza. I like it too.

Thank you vertical. Yes, the IHMT building is pretty cool. Yeah, that other building is one that people would hate. It circles in with the history of the city that I will post later. I can't say I like it either, but feel that a good city has a mix of both good and bad buildings.

The arches on the brick building were added just to break up the square pattern a bit. I don't think they look that bad, but to each is own.

The Jackson Steinway is actually just an advertisement. The Jackson Steinway building will be pasted in at a later date. But the building itself is nice. Breaks up the 70's trend.

Thank you vertical. I'm liking all the low rises too. They really do make a city more realistic.

I like all of the new/old buildings but I don't like that green one. Well, I like it just not the shade of green. You should darken it a little bit.

The infrastructure looks great like always and the waterfront looks amazing specially with the wall between the sidewalk and the water. I also like that round-about. I wanna see some buildings like the Time Warner Center there.

Thank you Alek. I don't like the green one either, it seems to be the one that is least liked out of the pack. I'm keeping it though because like I said, every good city has a mixture of good and bad buildings.

Here are some 'sneak peak' shots of what I will be updating on this weekend: (Scroll right >> >> >> >> >>)

the green building isnt ugly but rather unrealistic which is why it should be redone IMO.
