Now THAT is a photo that makes me nostalgic.

I always did love that entire hillside. Mount Royale should make a great addition to the area.

There is no appeal... its pure tacky... lets hope there are more exciting buildings in the rest of the development.

Density of the proposed development behind the water tower is 30 persons/acre.

no, theres still one or two buildings that a not fully completed and i think a few more houses
and if im not mistaken there is a commercial portion yet to be finished.

Some land has been cleared on Bentley Drive right next to the connector road to the new underpass and the below photos are taken from another cleared area capable of holding two multi-unit buildings;

I actually kind of like the building on the right in the last photo.

If they mixed in a decent amount of commercial and modified the street patterns somewhat then this style of development wouldn't be so bad.

Unfortunately in Halifax I think low density is sometimes considered a valid substitute for good planning...

I have it from the developer himself that the gentlemen that built 5505 Falkland will be starting in the next couple of months on another one of the buildings at the top of the hill here. Lets hope that they use less stone tile then they did downtown.

On another note, does anybody have any clue how the Washmill extension will interact with Regency Park drive? They are building the roads, are there any diagrams of how those roads connect through to Mount Royale?

There's a drawing on page 25 of this document: http://www.halifax.ca/commcoun/ccc/d...1207CCC136.pdf . I haven't seen anything more detailed than that.

I think the building you are referring to had a crane go up today. I put 2 pictures in the general update thread. There is also another possible site that looks as though a building could go up soon.

Still nothing above ground for the building under construction here. Lot's of work being done just the same. Here is a quick bb photo by me.

Also here is a pic of a new house going up in that area. I believe it's on Laurantide.
