It looks like stucco or really cheap plaster. However, I'll wait until it's more complete before I judge.

In the case of the future 77 storey tower (future tallest), it looks like of all the new towers proposed, that it is the one involved with Huizar's possible legal trouble. I'm interested in anyone's realistic assessment of the situation, beyond the normal pessimism. Will this project be : A: Have to start the review process all over ?
B: Stay on track, as normal
C: Cancelled for legal reasons
Thanks

hughfb3, I'd love to see updates on the Arts District highrise that broke ground a few months back, as well as the hotel at Fig and Pico.

I unfortunately work in an office building on the 5th floor in full view of Oceanwide Plaza, so I'm forced to look at it everyday. Today my eyes played a little trick on me because I thought I saw the cranes moving. My eyes were wrong. I cried a little.

The End.

The good news is they're almost finished and already part of the skyline?

Yep.

11 floors. All modular assembly. Think legos.

Great update, hughfb3! The Fig + Pico hotel is much further along than I thought! And great to see 520 Mateo moving along.

Great update indeed. I'm probably most excited for the arts district project. It will surely stick out on its own. But with its success, hopefully other developers will rush to the area to build. Cheaper land i would assume.

Loving development in the arts district, hopefully more get off the ground and a lot more proposed. LA’s bridges crossing the river are so beautiful but dirty as well as it’s surrounding areas. That was one of the first things that popped to my mind my first time arriving to LA from SD via Amtrak. So hopefully as more development gets built, the city seriously starts to clean and beautify the area.

6AM would be the ultimate development to see in the Arts District. Hoping we see that, but not holding my breath.

Swoon. That would be incredible. Or even the Bjarke Ingels proposal.
