Fairermont

Hey everyone. This is my first sketchup city. I hope you all enjoy it.

FAIRERMONT
In 1865, a group of english settlers, led by Mark Faire, landed in a delta, and decided to colonize it. They called is Fairemont in honor of their leader. The Colony was just a small town, but quickly expanded, eventually becoming a booming port town.
When the citizens discovered the large amount of other 'Fairemonts" in the country, they changed the name of their town to 'Fairermont", since they thought it was a nicer town than the rest (which was actually true).
Fairermont met its first skyscrapers in the late 20's, and its first building still stands today. The town has a wide range of building types, goingf from the art deco style to the sleek and glassy towers of the future (kinda).

Enjoy!

Looks nice. You still have a bit to go until you can make awesome buildings. Heck, I still have a long way to go too. I can definitely tell that you're gonna be a city grid person. Your streets are really nice for a beginner, all you need are sidewalks.

Anyways, looks awesome and keep working on it. It's gonna look better when it's bigger.

...Well...I was...um...busy on saturday night, so I didn't get building descriptions in. I don't want to do much over the next few days, since I might be getting a new computer on Saturday. But here are the Building Descriptions on the 10 tallest (or at least I think they are...). All of the buildings with an '*' are buildings whose facades are going to be redone once I (hopefully) get my computer. I also might start rendering them too. We'll have to see.

Just a tip: When you give us an update don't put too many pictures, etc... It's best if you focus on one, two, or three things at a time. Too many things in a single update distracts us and maybe we won't read all.

And then we can focus more on your city and you wil have more updates to show.

Congrats on your new computer just make sure you're getting what you're paying worth.

And great city. With more details it will look awesome and all you need is add parks, monuments, etc...

Thanks for the tips, I'll try to downsize my updates and prbably start working on quality instead of quanity. And I'll take a look at the 'edges off' tip.

Also, I plan on some parks and stuff. There will prbably be a park on the lot in between the Hilton, FIME, At&t and the nameless round building.

I'll try to get a map out soon with the different areas of Fairermont color-coded based off what there will be.

Once again, thanks for the feedback.

^Yeah, the two small buildings ons the one side (the esurance sida) were the first two buildings i drew up, and then I added that cluster, which was going to be called the Fairermont Center. The other tower between Omin and NASDAQ is part of the center also.

BTW got my computer today, but have been having technical difficulties , but we'll see where I get tomarrow.

Well, its been a while since my last update, and this update is from my new computer. Didn't get much done, been very busy with very important things (such as playing Halo 3 and other games ) but anyways... here ya go.

(The shortest tower)
The Chase Tower. It's 642 feet tall and has 57 stories, and was finished in 1986 It was originally designed for an Insurance Company, but they went bankrupt after being coaguht with tax fraud (or some sort of moneytary crime, your choice) and sold the building to Chase. Chase Auto Insurance finished the sconstruction and have been stationed there for over 20 years. But there have been rumors of Chase placing the building on the market. But hose are just rumors...

The building has more of a 70's facade as oppose to an 80's, but regardless I like the building.

Yeah, i'm not too sure if Chase was even around in the 80's >.> I think I should research that before doing stuff like this...

EDIT: Yeah Chse was founded in 1799, so I gues the date will go about 10 years earlier (1976). That year sounds familiar... what happened that year?

Chase bank was created to fund the first public sewage and water system in New York City, and their logo was created to resemble a pipe.
