Lebanon is a city about 30 miles northwest of Indianapolis in central Indiana, and is the seat of Boone County. The population is around 16,000.
Lebanon was founded in 1830, and became the county seat in 1832 for its central location. It served the surrounding farmland in the county. In the last 30 years or so, Lebanon has seen some growth as the Indianapolis suburbs have crept northwest into the county and towards the city.
The Boone County Courthouse, on the courthouse square at Main Street & Meridian Street. The courthouse was built in 1911.
The courthouse is said to contain the largest monolithic limestone columns in the world.

The Strange Nathanial Cragun House, on Main Street. The house was built in 1893, and is now home to the Boone County Historial Society.
