The two least dramatic directions from which to view this tower (not that they are bad) are from the Northeast and the Southwest because those perspectives frame

the building with the two rounded corners(?) which do not expand as the building rises.

If the illustration in the Chicago diagram was from say the Southeast or the Northwest that would be much more dramatic because it would show

the two corners which expand vertically most effectively (or is it affect-ively).

I'm not complaining - I would just like to see that and I have no skill in illustrating that way.

Can we assume we are not going to get any fancy crown lighting since that is amenities? Maybe those opening on the east and west side with solid light.

How fitting Solar caught a pic of the tornado on the back of Columbia college because that's what this beauty reminds me of!

That's pretty much every high-rise building that doesn't have mechanical systems integrated within the building itself.

Some pretty aerials from McHugh: www.instagram.com/p/Cyi-DWsrxI3/

That concealed HVAC enclosure is slick. It's like they actually gave a shit about how it looks.

the enclosure is probably what brings it over 800 feet tall

Yes, but some are covered by their parapet. By the looks of it, this one won't be covered.

To your point, yes, RTUs or Mech penthouses are sometimes covered by parapets, and I could have sworn that this was going to have a taller parapet...but maybe I'm confusing it with an earlier version of the design, or maybe the parapets were VE'd to a shorter version..unsure.

yeah this looks unfinished at the top. I'd give this tower 4/10 - mostly for height

What are you all talking about? The mechanicals are super well hidden unless you are viewing this thing from 700'+ off the ground which happens approximately never for 95% of us.

That's because it is unfinished at the top, give it a few weeks.

If it were put to a vote, I'd wager 8 out of 10 of you are keeping the ugly box for the extra 17 feet

Sure, but pretty sure most/all of us would prefer the parapet to reach the top. It's not why I'm giving it a 4/10, but little details like that don't help

Looking back at the early designs of this building, there are two changes which stand out at this time.

Both the cap and the separation between the base and the main tower were designed as three stories high and now they are both two stories tall.

That box on top would have been better hidden in the original versions.

The one area of the building which is much more disappointing to me is the South face at the bottom of the diagonal on the base and above the roof of the

building next door.

I hope it will be fixed.
