Again with the reversion to lower-case title. The forum is doing this, not me.

The name Cru has been scrapped in favour of 11/YV. Thread title needs another name change...

What material surrounds the vertical fins? It looks like some sort of tan stone, or possibly unfinished material. Curious to see what that is from people who've seen it in person.

From my understanding, the material is some sort of beige stone laid out horizontally, then stacked vertically. The ratio between this masonry and the glass/spandrel is too imbalanced, so the tower conveys a somewhat soulless impression to me at least.

I don't think my opinion on this tower will change much, but we are still fairly early in construction.

The tower has one of the better shapes in Toronto. The cladding is not doing it for me. There's too much of everything; spandrel glass, stone, mullions, venting grills, recesses or fins. It can still come together though.

The biggest problem for me, is the light coloured aluminum mullions clashing with the black glossy spandrel and will distract (hopefully not too much when it all comes together) from what are otherwise nice louvers and vertical stone accents.

Although I suppose we should consider ourselves lucky that we didnt get powder blue/grey spandrel.
