Here are city proper numbers for transit, walk, and bike commute mode shares by city limits. The U.S. numbers are from the 2010 census. The Canadian numbers are from the 2006, as the 2011 census numbers aren't out yet. The Canadian walk/bike numbers are walk and bike shares combined, as the StatCan website doesn't separate them. These are sorted by transit mode share. Note though that amongst these cities, Victoria is far and away the walk/bike capital, with a staggering 32.9% of workers commuting to work by foot or bicycle. The city's compact size, moderate climate, and narrow, pedestrian-friendly streets obviously contribute to that number.
