Nice find. The HLC and the developer are still not in agreement about the Demo/move of the houses on the block.

EDIT: I noticed this is the other half of the block. There could be two projects on that block.

Judging from the other picture in the link, this looks to be just about 400’? Maybe slightly less.

There's a little bit of matchy matchy going on with the Fairmont -- two blue glass slabs of roughly the same height looking across a park at one another. Very curious to see if this is still owned by Manchester (the folks who did the Fairmont) or another developer.

EDIT: also, that second view is amazing. It catches all the open spots where, like, 90% of our DT projects are going to sit. That view will be unrecognizable in 5-10 yrs.

I was thinking the same. Looks like the lovechild of the Fairmont and the Thompson. It's not bad but it really isn't up to par with most of the other proposals on this side of town, and it really feels like they ought to go taller. Not having a hotel component also seems like a miss if it's right next to the CC.

I think I agree with the general sentiments. It looks ok nice. Can it just be somewhere else though? Something better (taller),(not a Fairmont fraternal twin) should go on that lot.

This rendering definitely depicts a tower over 400' tall - no doubt. The Fairmont is 456' to the roof and this one seems either right there or slightly taller.

I just don't see this happening as office/res. The location is prime hotel/res if anything. Either way I don't see this breaking ground for at least 5 years.

Historical zoning permits were filed by the City yesterday to prevent anything from being built on the site - at least the entire site as proposed. The filings are for the two houses at 606 and 608 E. 3rd St. This is being discussed at today's HLC meeting.

Based on the renderings above, the tower was scaled back to a half block and no longer interferes with any of the historical houses on the other half. HLC shouldn't be able to stop this one now.
