One of my last activities in New York was to take the overpriced ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. I've been to the Statue of Liberty long ago, back when the WTC towers were still standing proud in Lower Manhattan :
By mid-afternoon, I realize that the last ship of the day was about to depart thanks to a slower tourist season in the Fall. I was given the choice of stopping on either Ellis Island or Liberty Island, not that they'll reduce the fare because I can't get to both ...
Since I could only pick one of the two, I chose to get off at Ellis Island. I've been to Liberty Island before anyway.
Time to head home on the last boat of the day.
More photos on my website's Ellis Island section (newly opened).
