As promised, a second page of my favourite Hamilton houses...

Tiny Craftsman

Interesting front window

Battlefield House (1796)

Art Moderne

A very tiny carpenter's Gothic in Dundas

This should be out in the country

A tiny house

A cool house for a witch

Roach House, built 1854

A modern home built by Pigott Construction

A rearview rearview

Some modern designs...

A steel framed house built in 1958

Townhouses with great details despite being in a rough neighbourhood

Classy

Massive Victorian

Servants' houses

Wonderful stone

The gardens really make these ones

Gated homes on the Mountain Brow

French

A real mansion if I've ever seen one

Nice townhouses, Italianate again

Witherspoon Huouse, 1855 as you can see.

Skinny house

Smiley's Castle, 1854 Regency

Ontario Gothic

Very old houses

A long row of flat roof homes in various degrees of repair

Tudor Revival, very popular in several Hamilton neighbourhoods

Gambrel roof design

Old stone cottage, note the wrought iron on the porch

Ontario Gothic cottage row

Great townhouses in Stinson

And an interesting double

Another rambling Arts and Crafts home

A beuty up in Greensville

Great double house on the right

This is a huge stone house that is on its own little outcrop of the Escarpment. Totally inaccessible.

Wynnstay Estate, 1925

Porches are great!

Another Victorian right on the beach

A Gothic Revival home in Dundas

A little cottage

A lovely Georgian home in Dundas

Stone Second Empire, no longer a house

Rock Castle, 1848. This house is built literally on the slope of the Niagara Escarpment overlooking Corktown. Apparently the interior of this house is spectacular, with 10 foot ceilings, moulded archways and elaborate curving staircases. Currently, the owners themselves live in the largest of 5 apartments. The property is difficult to access, so there is no good view of the house. Three and a half storeys face the opposite side, overlooking Hamilton and Hamilton Harbour.

Yet more stone

A small Second Empire home

Nice pictures! I don't remember some of these houses on the edge of the Escarpment. What neighborhood threads are those from?

Awesome! I was going to start mentioning my favourites but the list became too vast so to name just a couple I definitely loved the Sandyford Place and the Modern. Thanks for sharing.

Some of these pictures have never been seen before, some of them were in this thread:

I have tons and tons of Hamilton photos I've never posted on here, I may add some more houses to this thread.

it really does look like those parts of montreal that are right up against the western mountain, from st. henri through lower westmount to summit circle.

I'm surprised to see houses like these in Hamilton, I would only expect to see such huge mansions in the Bridle Path neighborhood of Toronto.

Hamilton was once a wealthy and prosperous city. Even today there are many large mansions being built in the Hamilton area, especially in Ancaster, Flamborough and all around the Escarpment behind Burlington. The Niagara Escarpment provides some of the best natural scenery in Southern Ontario and there is a lot of wealth in the Golden Horseshoe.

It's a long shot, but if we get to the third page of this thread, I have another round of beautiful homes lined up.

Shit, if I were you? I'd eat yourself a Kit Kat Bar straight from the Trident Shoppe on Jarvis.

Looks like we may not make it to the next page (six more posts), but if we do I have another round of great houses and mansions, some never seen on SSP before.

Awesome, awesome thread. Some of the best, most ornate and most diverse housing in one single city on the North American continent.

My favorites - Overall, this one has the most amount of charm that really appeals to me:

But if money and affluence were my #1 priority, this one takes the cake:
