speaking of Las Vegas, how come we never hear anything about development there? Are you the only active Vegas forumer? I read a city compilation thread a while back, so I know there is a lot of development going on, but i can't hink of a single Vegas thread I've seen in this forum in the past several months.

Missing Las Vegas

I thought perhaps California claimed Vegas in its region but you're right...could not find hide nor hair in either development region. I guess they place all their develoopment discussion on the Projects & Construction > City Compilations thread. Vegas...they just got to be different

Yeah, I can understand why Las Vegas has their very own development thread. Look at ALL the projects that are underway and proposed, it's overwhelming. To have Las Vegas projects discussed here on the MW Forum will overrun anything in realtion to Phoenix, Denver, Salt Lake City and Boise.

So back to 44 Monroe...

The sales office told me the webcam is run by Weitz and they have no control over it.

We should all be optimistic about 44 Monroe. It's officially above the parking garage to its north, and its slowly chugging away. Probably because of the holidays it slowed down construction. The Summit had the same thing happen a few months ago when it slowed down, but picked back up again.

I have high hopes for 44 Monroe, and I try to NOT look at this thread everyday or go Downtown to see its progress; so the less I check-up on it, it'll look like it's going up faster (with noticeable changes) when I eventually do update myself, hehehe.

Yea I'm sure it will be fine, I'm just a little impatient.

I'm still wondering who was taking pictures on Friday from the US Bank building. I havn't seen Solari on here lately since it might have been him.

You should have zoomed in and snapped a pic of him.
Soleri is an elusive fellow.... Kind of like Spiderman.

loftlovr: I see you changed your avatar...I kinda miss the hideous chihuahua (Oops; that wasn't your dog, was it?)

I like the angle looking up at the balcony. Is it any place we should know?

I wrote another email asking about the final height of the building and whether or not the crown will be built. The answer was...

"The crown will be in place. The height will be right around 411 ft. Let me kow if I can provide any information regarding the units. Thanks.

/\ So it is a ~50' crown??????? Doesn't seem possible. Actually, I could care less what the final height is... I just want the crown to be built!!!!

BTW... the Building is starting to rise higher than the adjacent parking garage. They have the rebar in place for several of the columns, and you can see these "soaring" above the garage. ...As of yesterday.

It's finally rising above the parking garage level? Very cool!

As for the crown, we kind of talked about it a little before. According to the tower plans, it will be 367' to the top of the elevator core room. This would mean the crown would need to be right around 44', and if the rendering of the tower are to scale, it seems very possible.

Great news confirming the crown and that they are finally moving beyond the parking garage. We should all take a vow not to freak every time the crane stops.

Yay!!! I was downtown earlier before I went to workout at the YMCA...and yes, those column rebars are rising high above. Soon, the 9th floor will be done, and we will then FINALLY hit double digit stories.

HX Guy, great job on getting the development team to respond with the height and the crown issue.

Man, imagine all of us when (and if) CityScape breaks ground and starts going vertical. I for one won't be able to sleep at night. :p
