I think it's beautiful.

If this doesn't make you fall in love with the building, nothing will...

I have to say, that lobby shot is drop dead gorgeous. I still feel like they picked the worst design from the competition, but the lobby certainly makes up for some of that sense of loss. Wowsers!

I think Foster has put the "Park Avenue" back in Park Avenue, at least as far as office towers go. Let's see it get built.

* Far Right we can see 425 Park Ave incorporated into the skyline. Notice the fins.

Wow! What a beautiful building. My only dislike is that it isn't taller.

Pardon my sort term memory loss (and my spelling); but was there not some discussion here about the 905' not including the fins?
Or was the figure aforementioned inclusive of said element, but subject to upward adjustment with the Midtown East rezoning plan?
IOW, could we see this joining the Thousand Footers' Club anytime before it begins to rise?

We may see this joining the 1000' club. I have read articles where they mentioned extra height because of the zoning. The potential is there. That is, if the city rezones before this tower goes up, then the developer has the option of going higher. If they add the fin or not is up to them. Ultimately, an increase in height is up to the developer but the rezoning adds that ability.

Thats the thing. It almost doesn't seem tall at all but you put this tower in most cities and it would dominate. Even 4WTC seems tiny, but again look at what its next too and once the others follow, it will seem miniscule. Its a tough life for a tower in NYC. Soon, this will happen with the supertalls, especially in Midtown once all the towers go up, and the rezoning kicks in. 1000' will be the new plateau. At the rate its going, it will become a reality soon.

Ok so let me get this straight. There buying the old building, going to gut the hell out of it 2 bypass NYC oddball zoning & air rights laws. And there only going up 42 floors? Am I missing something here?
