Chattanooga,TN

I just recently accepted a job in Chattanooga,TN and I don't really know much about the city. Things to do? Places to see? Developments? Anything would be appreciated. Thanks

^Can't help you very much because I don't live in Chattanooga, but if you enjoy the outdoors then you'll love it. Plenty of hiking, kayaking/ canoeing/ rafting, camping, and other outdoors activities. Its an amazingly beautiful part of the state. If you like to snow ski Cataloochee in Maggie Valley, NC isn't too far away (mainly fake snow) as well as the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.

As far as developments, downtown Chattanooga is very nice for a city its size, and Nashville and Atlanta are roughly 2 hours away.

I've never lived in Chattanooga, either, but it's one of the best cities in the Southeast in my opinion. It's in a beautiful area of the country, has plenty to do/see, and has an awesome downtown core. Like the previous poster noted, it's also close to other great Southeastern cities (Atlanta, Nashville, etc.).

If you're looking for stuff to do, I'd just start exploring on Lookout Mountain or in the downtown area.

Chattanooga is a great city. This is probably a bit of a generalization, but to me it's like a smaller, more conservative, southern version of Portland.
