It is great to see this part of the world prospering! I guess the only problem I have is using the term stagnant to describe the West. The use of that word to describe is divisive when in fact what is going on is really what people have been hoping for, a higher standard of living giving us all more things to have in common. Ok enough of my pitch for world peace.

I wouldn't give it a second thought, thats just my style of writing, playing on some Cold War-era phrases

The taller tower (south tower) will be 116m high to roof (138m with the interesting antenna) and the shorter will be some 92m high.

The complex will be officially ready at spring 2009, but the structure will be finished next year (I hope they will invite group from SSC on trip in November this year, just like they did on May this year ). I think they will finish the top floor this year (some 3 floors left which should take not more than some 50 days, then making roof etc).

Some of these cities do really have som nice stuff going on but your "Slavic world" just sounds a little funny
Bratislava (or Warsaw) and Moscow (as both being Slavic) have as much in common as Frankfurt and Mumbai
that is very silly. what about sofia and moscow? the russians came into bulgaria to "solve" the bulgarian question in the 19th century to drive away the ottomans. warsaw and moscow have a deep and, for warsaw, tragic history. some slavic countries may be doing better than others, but to say the difference between them is similar to that of frankfurt and mumbai is ridiculous. add in the astonishing similarities in all slavic languages (the pan-slavic dialectical continuum) , and there most certainly is, at the very least, a slavic "realm", if not world.

Well, maybe...I'm not sure. Whatever that was, it ended for us only in 1989

I am glad to hear that you resent sticking together under leadership of an imperialist state. When more people in Poland begin thinking like you, maybe Poland will reevaluate it's foreign policy.
You come across as a likable guy, but please, don't give me the usual Russian nonsense that you're somehow equal with US in terms of imperialist leanings. you are really much worse I dare say, imperialism is traditionally the driving force of the Russian statehood. I take comfort in the fact some things never change

Greets from Poland. you are liked here, quite unlike your government....

This is a very important cultural difference and that's why I feel much more close to Western Europe as it is a west-latin civilisation.
Similiar language has nothing to do when it comes to connection between Poles, Czechs and Russians, Bulgarians and other nations that belong to east-latin civilisation. I don't feel I belong to what you may call "a Slavic World". It's only a slogan which was very useful to justify imperial policy in XIX and XX Century.

just as the English or the Dutch do not feel more affinity with Germany than with any other country, despite their Germanic origins. maybe academically, but emotionally?

See, this is where threads like these always end up.
Cut the crap now or it is closed.
Topic is skylines, you can discus "Slavic", affinity between peoples and russian imperialism over at SSC.

Could not agree more

Enough with this sillyness, back to the topic at hand...

SOFIA, capital of Bulgaria, makes the list with its "Akropolis" project:

It will be built here:

In unrelated news, Podgorica, the capital city of the smallest Slavic state of Montenegro, seems to be pondering skyscraper construction in its search for new city landmarks. A local firm has announced plans for a 40 storey tower

Times change and so do feelings associated with slogans.
C'mon ppl - lay off CrazeSerb - he obviously means it in a sincere way.
As a human being I recognize his sincerity - and no matter how funny the phrase sounds to me - I'm compelled to reverberate the feeling - simple.

Anyways stop the banter and enjoy the skylines - cos they're looking HOT HOT HOT

Can EU matters be discussed, or will they get banned as well?
