This actually fits in really well with the community, and will fit in even better if/when the other proposals of similar height get built.

It looks pretty good from a massing perspective but I find most precast-clad buildings unattractive. Even the red brick that people sometimes complain about on here would be quite preferable in my opinion.

I have to agree, especially given that bare concrete typically takes on a dirty appearance after a few years that never seems to be maintained by building owners.

Yeah, We'll have to see how some of these age. I can think of this one, Kaye St., The Trillium and that Bayers Rd Monstrosity that still hasn't filled up. Hopefully the outer materials will be power washed once in awhile. I wish the owners of The Maritime Centre would give their building a blast. Might actually take that 2 tone color left from adding those additional floors.

I don't think that will ever go away. When they added the top floors someone had the bright idea of tinting the concrete panels slightly to try to match the years of weathering that affected the original panels. But they must have got it wrong because the two never matched.

I'm still not sold on the precast but the ground floor is looking great!

I am hearing that the ground floor tenant is going to be an artsy-type furniture store. Not sure what it's called. Supposedly taking the entire ground floor space.

Other than the overhead utility wires (which will be hidden a bit by trees) the streetscape looks great! (click for more photos);

The banner sign implies these are rentals. They developer (whomever it is) was deliberately vague on that during the approval process, calling it condo/apartment. It is very difficult to find out much info about the rents, floorplans, etc. Apparently Precision Realty is handling whatever business these are getting.

That brickwork looks rather shoddy.

I suspect intentional, too. Too obvious to be a mistake. Going for the aged/lived in look, perhaps.
