Well not quite a similar fate. Lee plaza has been reduced to a shell and has little prospects for redevelopment. The Book Tower has not been scrapped-out (yet) and still has a real possibility of re-use. Unfortunately, I have not heard any news since the January 2010 announcement by the Key Investments Group that they would renovate the Book Tower.
Another large Detroit building that is closer in fate to the Lee Plaza is the "legendary" Michigan Central Station (MCS):

This train station (designed by the same team that did Grand Central Station in NY) has been closed for about 25 years.
In order that I not be perceived as being too negative with the two ruin shots, the following are some close ups of the 28 story Fisher Building which is in very good shape and has always been in use since its completion in 1928.
