In London, it is about 4 per block, except at UWO where there are 17 on campus.

I don't understand how they can have 17 on campus. Our university has two, and it's about a quarter the size of UWO.

Thunder Bay has 15 Tim Hortons and 17 Robins Donuts, for a total of 32 shitty coffee places. I hadn't realized Robins Donuts was back on top here, they've opened a few new locations in the past year. There is one coffee shop per 3,000 people here.

Moncton (CMA pop 144,000)

Tim Horton's - 33
Starbuck's - 3
Second Cup - 3
Timothy's - 2
Robin's - 2 (I think)
Country Style - 1

Those are the chains. We also have a bunch of interesting independents like Down East Coffee and Jitter Bean Cafe....

There are approximately 26 Tim Hortons locations in the City of Kingston, including about 3 on the Queen's campus, one at St. Lawrence College, and one on the base.

Kingston has at least one independent coffee/donut shop: Coffee Way, on Division Street. They bake their own donuts and other baked goods in-house from scratch daily, and it's open 24/7. The coffee is cheaper than Tim Hortons and probably equal quality. Unfortunately, the location is out of the way in a lower-middle class neighbourhood known for crime, and the clientele are almost all seniors, and students from the high school across the street. It's unfortunate because this place has so much potential. They could make a killing selling fresh donuts through the restaurants, independent coffee shops, and grocery stores downtown.

There's an independent coffee shop called Coffee & Co. downtown, which sells fair trade coffee and is more expensive than Starbucks. There's also Coffee Co. (not the same company), which is a small local chain with two locations, one downtown and one to the west. Starbucks has seven locations in Kingston, including two downtown and one on the edge of the Queen's campus. That is my favourite Starbucks location anywhere, it is located in a very old limestone house.

my town of 13,000 has a Tim Hortons (2 if you count one in a wal-mart) a country style, a local "luxury" coffee place, and a scummy little coffee time, so one for every 3250 people.

Moose Jaw(35,000) has
2 Tim Hortons
1 Starbucks
1 Coffee Encounters
1 Java Express
(had 1 Robins but it closed down a shame since it made the best donuts, muffins and coffee). :'(

so one coffee house for every 7,000 peeps....lots of convenience stores here are carrying fancy brands though and many here like going to cafe's for their coffee as well

We don't buy much from Tim's anymore ...... will probably buy maybe 2 drinks whilst the contest is on.

If we're counting things like Starbucks and the Independents, that brings Thunder Bay's numbers up quite a bit. We have two Starbucks, 5 or 6 independent coffee places and a couple tea houses.

Saskatoon has 20 Tim Hortons

Much harder to calculate Starbucks as they are embedded in every Safeway and a handful of other places.

Buh, 0/3.

Also I tried 2 new Tims near my work, neither of which have cider. I'm going to have to start outsourcing my Tims to Waterloo.

If we count the Starbuckseses in Safeway Thunder Bay has 5, but I didn't know they still had them.

I got a hot chocolate from Robin's Donuts today. Not only did I Sip to Lose, but the hot chocolate tasted like Tim Hortons' hot chocolate!! They've both used the same machines for years, but I guess now Robin's has started using them the same stupid way Tim's does, producing tasteless brown hot water. At least the donuts are still greasy, crunchy goodness.
