Why the glass on that lower portion? Is that office space or just part of the garage? Seems like an odd detail since they're going with screens to its right and left.

This looks close to wrapping up. Sidewalks and a dedicated bike lane have been going in over last couple of weeks.

And in a nice addition, work crews appear to be moving/removing overhead power and phone lines along 1st Street and presumably moving them underground so would guess the hideous telephone poles along that sidewalk will be gone soon too.

In unrelated sidewalk news, crews were putting in a side walk on north side of Butler Pitch and Putt too adjacent to the new condos at Riverside across from Auditorium Shores. Believe that was part of 2016 Mobility bond.

I’ve seen it a couple of times in person lately — it’s a good looking building.

I’m somewhat surprised that we haven’t heard more buildings announced in that area. Maybe Nate Paul owns more of the neighborhood than I first suspected….

Threadgills sold a while ago and I expect something there soonish.

Maybe everyone is gun shy because the old Statesman site may come online at the same time as any new construction.

Still not half bad from the back. I was pretty annoyed at the exposed transformer vault when I drove by a few weeks ago, but the streetscape is still an obvious and massive improvement from the bombed-out Hooters parking lot that was there just a few years ago.

From that angle, which is definitely not my favorite one, it feels like an office building from an 80s movie. Either RoboCop or Gremlins 2 maybe.

Are my eyes deceiving me or are those protected bike lanes that I see? Hopefully that's what I'm seeing.

Kinda reminds me of a Star Wars Sandcrawler - but glass.

Much better than a surface lot and a Hooters.
