I met a gentleman who used to be a crane operator around canada, was one of the operators for some of multiple province’s tallest buildings that were built in the 80s and 90s

Naturally, I asked how he felt about the heights, said it was what drew him to the job but he also said when he was up there he was so dialled in what he was doing that next thing he knew his work shift would be over

Love how this is bulking things up and filling in a gap.

At the risk of sounding like a millennial (post-millennial? gen-xyz? Dang I feel old...)

If there are any snapchat users out there, check out the "snap map" and take a look at the posts from the P&M area. One of the workers on this project has shared some video from his time at the top of the tower, offering some nice views.

Now that winter has arrived, can they still pour concrete? will the core be this level for quite some time or is it business as usual just at a slower pace? A silly question perhaps, but I'm curious as to how the weather affects the construction.

Business as usual in winter. All that changes are costs go up to heat and hoard (all factored into over all budget). You can tell where they are pouring by the tarped floors. That climbing slip form on the core is totally self contained and heated.

The majority of major projects that occur in Winnipeg operate regardless of season.

I’ve been using intellicast for years now. They have the day to day forecast for up to three months ahead! I’ll post the link as they are always accurate.

They’ve stopped loading the building with additional glazing, hollowcore, and balconies since the building rattle last Wednesday, still no word on when it will resume as of yesterday.

The tower should top out around the tip of the tower crane.

That's an interesting development, any word from any experts, sounds like more than just a dropped piece of hollowcore!
