Building of the first nuclear power plant in Egypt will start off in mid-2016, and expected to take 5 years; an official has said.
The tender for construction of the first phase of the nuclear power plant is being competed by Russia, China, and South Korea. Phase 1 will involve construction of two nuclear-operated facilities, each with a capacity to produce 950 to 1,600 MW. The nuclear power plant will be constructed in four phases.
