It's almost painful to think of how easy it would be for them to remain standing in relation to how difficult it was to build them. All it would take is 10 people not getting on a plane, and they would still be standing. On the other hand, it took thousands of people and millions of man-hours to construct these.

10 people... It should have never happened.

its so sad when i think of that.
all those people's hard work and all those lifes gone in a matter of hours.
if i had one wish in my life i would wish that 9/11 never happend.

Remember when the interior lights were turned on in the towers so that it spelled I (HEART) NY at night? I think it was in the mid 80s.

I've spent about an hour viewing this thread. AMAZING.

Very powerful photographs. However; rebuilding the twins as they were would be the worst option for the site.

off topic,but what happended to the north towers antenea? that thing was a huge metel pole,It seems to fall towards #7 in the vids and almost seems to split in half after it hits something.

I thought this thread was about the original WTC low-rises and plaza's not about the twin towers themselves. Or about how they fell. I think that we should lean back a little more towards the topic of the small towers and plaza's around the WTC site. Those pictures are just too depressing for a thread that was meant to show the way it used to be.

No.. the topic is of the small towers which were part of the WTC and the small plazas surrounding it. I never said it was wrong to remember 9/11 just keep on topic please. I guess some of those pictures of 9/11 are okay because they show the surrounding structures and what the plaza's looked like after the incident. But pictures that just focus on the main towers falling such as this and this should be posted on a thread about the WTC site or the Twin Towers.
