Don't know.
Once permits are issued (assuming they are?) the rest is largely discretionary.

"The Trudeau government is helping to fund an expansion of a downtown Vancouver shelter that it says will help more youth struggling with homelessness in the city.

The government says it's contributing nearly $12 million toward the expansion of Covenant House, which provides sanctuary and support services to homeless and at-risk street youth.

The first phase opened Monday and features a new five-storey building with 28 beds, which will be available for youth relapsing with drugs or alcohol once the second phase is complete.

The second phase will establish a second 10-storey building with 80 crisis beds, which will be available for homeless and at-risk youth in need of immediate care and services."

Wow! That's a serious financial contribution. I'm honestly shocked at the largess but it's great news for moving the second phase of the project forward.

So this building is now flattened? Finishing cleanup....

Will be interesting how far down they go and how many parking spots they will include .....likely under 50. Unless anyone has exact figures.

The build seems to be going a bit slow. But they also have minimal space to put supplies, so that along with CV19 it may have sent things a little sideways.

Thanks for the Photos @mcminsen

Downtown needs all the green space it can get

As I understand it, the small group of yew trees at the edge of the property was slated to be cut down for construction. Here, it looks as if they might stay. If so, "tant mieux!"
