I talked to Ed Walls, General Manager of the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel, and he told me that work on the project is ahead of schedule, that they are currently down to the 37th floor, and the project will definatley be finished by December. The scenic elevators are about to make their debut after over two years of guest glarring at plyboard, and the final part of the project will be to replace all of the skylights in the atrium of the hotel.
I'll be staying there the first weekend in August on the 70th floor, so I am going to make sure to get plenty of exterior shots, as well as interior shots of this "signature" hotel tower that has been a part of Atlanta's skyline since February of 1976, when it opened as the tallest skyscraper hotel in the world.
So cheers everyone!
