[Halifax] Lock Suites (1110 Wellington) | 32 m | 8 fl | U/C

This project has been around for years now. Banc Group now has it listed as an UPCOMING PROPERTY. The project was approved by H&WCC in August 2019.

Development Agreement Staff Report - Case #20774

I'll add more to this post when I find out some more information.

I was in the area last week. I have to say the new condo looks quite nice, and the way the roofline works with the neighbouring high-rises is nice.

The buildings set to be demolished are in pretty rough shape. One is burned out and I've seen some smashed windows on others.

This is a curious one. The usual "It's TOO TALL!!" voices in the public meetings (presumably spurred on by the Councillor for the district), condemned by the DRC, but HRM Planning seems to think it's fine.

Good fit with the surrounding larger buildings. Possibly a missed opportunity in scale.
