I happened to be outside yesterday afternoon as a vintage WWII B-17 flew over out house. It's part of an exhibit at ABIA, along with a B-24 and B-25. They're on a 130 city tour, Austin is one of them. Just a few minutes after I took this pic the plane landed at ABIA.

Aticle about the exhibit, with info and a few more pictures, including one that shows this plane landing just a few minutes after I took the below picture.

Then it became as important not to look as to look, I feared I would be lost in rush of bronze motes."

That's funny. I took this one too when I just happened to walk out of my house and see it. It's also a B-17, but I don't know if it's the same one. My picture isn't as close as your because 1) I only had my Canon Powershot with me and 2) it wasnt landing, it was actually leaving an airshow that took place the weekend before. Picture is from 04/02/2007

After some research, I think this may be the plane I took a picture of. It's called the Yankee Lady. I could be wrong though.

^ That's cool, Urban Sky. The one I took a picture of wasn't landing though. We're 7 miles from the airport, (as the crow flies, or in this case a B-17!) I didn't even think of using airliners.net to find a pic of it.

Here it is, though:

i was just saying that they were probably a lot higher for me because they had to clear some 6000 ft. mountains soon after they passed over my place in San Diego. anyway, it was really cool to randomly see a plane like this flying overhead and its even cooler that someone else got the same luck a year later with a completely different plane. esp since they are kinda rare.

ps: your link to airliners.net doesnt work. they have some special linking procedures according to the banner displayed when the link is clicked.

I glance at the lake and see the reflection of the tree and look inside to what it means to me. It makes me feel good and makes me feel free. However, before I leave be, I photograph that tree. It's one thing I must do, not only for me but also for you to reflect what you see.
