Sydney, Australia. An SU re creation.

Hello,

I have made a few attempts at recreating my home city in SU that failed due to size, I decided to start again small and in sections of around 1x1 kms.

These sections will be fully detailed and scaled etc. to include everything including terrain which i have done some surveying from car, rollerblade and google earth

This will be a slow project.

(Thread repeated in SSC)

First came the terrain mapping to fit the only 2 buildings i have so far.
This is the last time you will see the lower of Chifley tower and Deutsche bank place from the rear.

Intersection of Macquarie and Bent street/Eastern distributor, From Royal Botanic gardens.

Truly amazing!! your renders are the greatest thing ever i swear to god!

one question though, may i ask how you made the terrain, because the dips seem a bit harder than your usual.

Thanks guys,
sure toyota74 sounds interesting.

Treras - For steeper gradients you just have to add more horizontal lines across the road, The steepest road i used has 1/2 meter spacing for the horizontal lines and maximum 1cm vertical lift between each.

The building next to Regus Macquarie House
Floors - 3
Details - Unsure

It's god damn perfect, but so are your Queensland artificial cities. The Deutsche Bank is just so beautiful.

Wow Mo, I should have somebody suck the SU powers outta you and give them to me. And the Kerky ones too. That's amazing work. You even added people! And that grid is amazing!

All you need is to develop a ridiculously large amount of patience that is probably not normal or healthy ! I hope you like the pics cos i see myself in a mental institution one day from this

90% Finished corner no.2 of the block known as Chifley Square,
3 and 4 are almost ready but will include a full rebuild of Chifley tower which i will show next time but first i need to go there and see some details like WTF the sign says on top of Regus Macquarie house + to check the scale of it all.

Shitty render.

Yeah, Chifley tower doesnt seem to match up to the rest to the detail of the few smaller building. I think Deutsche Bank has more slime vertical lines on it to.

That's not as good as other renders you've done but it's definitely a good render. Are you also adding roof details? That's the only thing I never add to my buildings because I don't know what or how to make things that belong up there!

Roof details are there But i agree some things just need to be seen in person to get th scale right.

And yeah, Now comes the Tower rebuild !
Also Deutsche Bank Place will be rebuilt.
After that comes Aurora place !

Inspired by flamesrule to try a night render, probably wont attempt it again so i am glad it came out well.
S/W corner of Chifley Square complete.
