They've also moved the Divvy station that was there back to where it used to be, on the SE corner of Huron/Wells (which I like since I live on that block).

That green wall is the funniest thing ever. What kind of vegetation will survive on a north-facing wall shadowed behind an elevated train track and a literal forest of skyscrapers? This isn't Barcelona or even Florida. We'll be lucky if we get astroturf.

Also those planters on the sidewalk. Who comes up with this shit?

R.I.P. to all the vegetation that's going to be planted there (2017 - 2017).

Who knows, maybe climate change will make all those niceties possible?

Certain types of ivy will grow there. My house faces NW and I have a massive maple tree that blocks out all light that isn't blocked by my house, but the ivy grows like a weed and kills off anything else that tried to grow there.

This. English Ivy loves full shade and is completely indestructible.

ALSO, the 14 story Northwestern biomedical lab at 303 E Superior got its foundation permit yesterday. The foundation is listed as a deep foundation - 2 basements.

That's two new highrises receiving foundation permits yesterday

Nice. Looks like the rendering includes his small office project on Peoria as well (the second tower).

^ Yeah. Actually it kind of reminds me of something you might see in some parts of Manhattan (not like midtown or anything - more like Tribeca).

Am I the only one that can't ever see Spyguy's pictures? I can see everyone else's except his which are usually the ones I want to see. I've used both Chrome and IE and neither seem to work......

if true this is even more infuriating, seeing as they easily could have done a facade-ectomy at a bare minimum. what purpose is that portion serving? why is the facade not consistent with the rest of the building?
