In this fact I know that no other small town in Canada can match Niagara fall for pure excitement, street action or skyscrapers.
I love walking down Clifton Hill on a nice summer evening with thousands of other people. Makes me feel like I'm in Times Square or something (sorta?).

Besides Length and Depth, what else can you use to judge a urban/skyscraper canyon objectively.

If you're getting into subjective ranking, even a crumby canyon could be considered #1.

Uniformity of the street wall might be another factor?

I don't think you can really rank these, they are too subjective.

^ I was not referring to your post, I was referring to the one above it.

I have no idea how you'd rank a "urban canyon" and to say that "my canyon is the best" or "my city has the five best" sounds a bit ridiculous to say the least.

thats why i should always put in the (imo). it really is subjective. with that said, when it comes to long deep skyscraper canyons, well, the canyons in calgary speak for themselves.

I actually think the view behind you in that shot would have been a better canyon (the discovery district), that and the canyon view south of Queen (which you can see in Steveve's pictures from Canada Life).

stephen ave really is one of a kind as far as pedestrain friendliness goes. It makes for a good canyon as well. Best? Who knows.....I work right beside it and love it. The crowds are amazing at lunch hour for a city of 1 million.

Obviously a bit of telephoto used but it still exists.

Great photo of Ottawa. Even though it doesn't have alot of height, their downtown core is very dense.
