Well, the base of the crane is white, there are a lot of white crane pieces sitting in the spot where Front 17 or whatever they are calling that development across from Riverscape and next to the Dockside. I have been wondering if they are delaying as long as possible to avoid issues with the crane next door?

I've been wondering about this too. Seemed like they were assembling a couple of pieces of the crane onsite, then they moved the pieces offsite, and that was like a month ago.

It may just be their migratory cycle, but the crane parts have returned.

They must follow the Canada Geese.

Crane is fully up for this project today, starting off very short. (Ooops just saw this was posted earlier)

Here's the latest Pearl crane (white one in the foreground... looks like the same style as the PAW crane):

"Like Portland, Not Portlandia." That'd be such a great line if it wasn't priced for Californians.

Have they renamed it NV? That's an... interesting ....name. Then again, I'm pretty sure there already is an old apartment building named The Overton.

Oh god. It just hit me. NV, as in Envy? Ugh. FACEPALM. That name is more than just bad. It represents if not reaffirms the worst of what most Portlanders already think of people who live in the Pearl District. People think the Pearl is snooty, so how about a name that proves 'em right? Wow. That's really bad.

That's madness. And... "Like sunshine on a cloudy day"? I want to know who got paid to come up with that.

Must just be a placeholder website, right?

Like a dream come true!

All the leaves are brown
And the sky is gray
I've been for a walk
On a winter's day
I'd be safe and warm
If I was in L.A
California dreamin'
on such a winter's day

Portland is often criticized for being parochial, but were it a local development company or advertising company they would have understood that the marketing angle is offensive and it requires more subtlety.
