I love that pic of NYC, not just for its streetscape, but for the perfect color shot of NYC's old 2-light traffic signals, which you can see in some old movies, but often it's in black-and-white. Since there was no yellow light, to show the warning/clearance phase, the red light lit up while the green was still lit, and then after a few seconds, the green light turned off while the red stayed lit for "stop."
