I was always surprised at how many people didn't know what the World Trade Centre in NYC was.

I wish it had stayed that way.

I can't tell you how much I miss them. That first picture really got to me because I cannot count how many times I went down the West Side Highway looking at that exact pic.

Oh wow, I feel stupid now. The one on the left is just at an angle.

It looked like three. *facepalm*

On-topic, here's a nice shot of 6WTC/1WTC I found:

^^^ lol
I thought it was 3 towers in that photo too.
It's a strange illusion.

below is a proposed lighting scheme for the WTC in 1973.

The locked door leading to the roof.

Does anyone know what become of the "PEACE ON EARTH" phrase that sat outside the plaza?

So, so surreal...

I love this piece:

The artist is apparently Joan Miró.

I love how each building has a different tapestry, it gives them individual characters. I always see their tapestries as portraying their "attitudes."

Does anyone have close-up pictures of the North Tower's Tapestry?

I had the pleasure of visiting the WTC twice (1999 and 2000). I don't have much to add out of my collection in terms of the really unique pictures in this thread...except one...the WTC cows!
