CIBC has gone from prominence to obscurity in about a lifetime. The logo, the landmark head office, etc. was the plan back to glory and than the never ending pandemic hit. Lot of people don't want to work 5 days a week in the office anymore.

I feel bad for Chris Rock. I don't think he knew the hair style wasn't by choice. Surely, it wasn't the first time facing an open hand either given his comedic style. LOL I don't condone violence but, damn, to defend one's partner like that in front of a major televised event at the peak of cancel culture is passion and love

Some local school board logos I find nice and some that need a re-design. I suppose there are 10 big school boards in the GTA based on region. I didn't put the ones I find are average.

Good. I like how TDSB uses an apple, though it needs some sharpening.

Bad. These could be anywhere from the 60s to 90s.

Some of those school board logos are stinky poo poo bad.

This one makes me think of Ihop (the home of terrible sawdust-cakes and fake syrup).

This is still my favourite unintentional horror themed logo from a visit to Edmonton a few years back.

Was the designer of the Kumon logo trying to convey the feeling of children wanting to flee tutoring classes?

I really like the new Calgary library logo inspired by the windows of the new Central library.

even my kids pointed this out...years ago when they first saw it (my son would have been about 8 at the time). We threatened to sign him up to Kumon if his grades slipped...reminding him of the unhappy looking face on the logo.

It looks like someone punched a kid in the eye and put the word 'eel' next to his head. Is that a threat?

Plus, Peel is one of Toronto's notoriously nasty names. Take the kid to Peeler school, I'm off to stuff my Old Cummer in the Spadina after its Pape smear.

Damn. I've obviously passed by many Kumon locations but never paid attention to the sign. Even if it it's portraying a child's drawing of a face, it's supposed to be for tutoring, not a daycare.

I really like the aesthetics of new Sault Ste. Marie logo, but what exactly is it supposed to mean? As dated as the old one is, the meaning certainly isn't opaque.

what is it with Ontario and the ubiquitous "hearts with dots"-shaped people? Every friggen logo has something of that sort.

And all the city logos have some river featured (or even more tiring, a Maple Leaf).

The thing in the adva (edmonton) logo looks like he is trying to stick his head up his ass.

it also reminds me of this:
