The condo portion is not shown in the picture and the sign also just says metro park. I'm guessing they'll probably have to get the parking garage opened before they can actually start selling condos is Mix and Marconi, so the new condo will probably be the final thing constructed.

A reminder of what we won't be able to afford to live in but would be willing to sell out parents into slavery to buy...

I think Bell Street is being relocated to the east of the building - I read that somewhere. You can see the street entrance at the far end of the building in the rendering:

I am surprised that this has been under construction for almost a year now though and is only at this stage. It's an understatement to say the progress seems very slow; I'm sure I have seen entire 20 storey buildings, maybe more, go up in about that amount of time. I can only think that the slow progress was entirely intentional. In most places time = money, but apparently not here.

Bell street won't exist anymore, that's the entrance to the garage

I guess they could have continued it on the side, but it'd be a useless street and would serve better as a back service lane (and a low entrance to the bottom floor of the garage on the front) than an actual thoroughfare in that location

It probably will have stairs there, looks like something funky is going on instead of a solid wall

^ You mean Bell Street won't exist anymore.

I did read something in reference to "reconstruction of Bell Street", however, unless they changed the design for it, it may have just referred to the portion shown above, off Henry Street.

I always thought the city approved to get rid of Bell Street for the proposal. The street seemed pretty useless anyways.

The only purpose of streets is not just to be useful for cars. They could have improved the activities on the street...

And what "activities" would you have liked to see on Bell Street?

hahahaha what's funny is that I've heard people say that that area was a popular hang our for prostitutes .. so there probably was a lot of 'activity' there

Bell Street will apparently just be used as an alley to provide access from Henry Street, for the existing buildings.

Though I would post these banners. These are good visuals of the designs from the different individual buildings of this project. Taken from the website.http://livedowntownstjohns.com/index.php

Wow... Mirador is REALLY going to link the parkade to Marconi. I love that transition between the two.

Looks like they redesigned Mirador, which is a very good thing! The old design looked very out of place and unfitting. I would love to see an updated aerial render of the whole complex. I suppose they want to get the designs 100% nailed down before they start heavy construction.

Wow - the new designs are much, much better.

The parking garage still leaves a lot to the imagination but it's still a parking garage. Mirador is much better even though we haven't seen any renderings of the parkade-Mirador integration.

Hopefully they put some stairs on the east end of the building where the access point is - that would be really nice.

Prostitution counts as an activity, sure! (and yes, I always see prostitutes there)

Point being: cars are not the only function for a road. Bell Street didn't have much going on, very true, but it also has a place in history and it was neat how it curiously meandered down the slope of the parcel of land. We talked about conserving street layouts - getting rid of it kind of goes against that philosophy. But what oddsss
