The only way this is real is if its a residential NOBU tower.

They're definitely taking their time. I wonder if the fence is only to keep people off the property. They just hung some "no trespassing" signs on it, nothing construction related like you usually see.

Like I posted earlier, it’s residential.

Wow! This would be fantastic for the area that’s currently very underdeveloped. Damn, Castleberry Hill, South Downtown, The Gulch, Fairfield Poplar District, and Artisan Yards could be one the the densest contiguous areas in the city!

Can we please not with everything being named "Yards" now? Despite the stupid name it sounds like a cool project.

Doe anyone know what is going on at Rooms 2 go at Piedmont and Peachtree in Buckhead? It appears fenced in for demolition. There was always talk of a tower there,

The store is being renovated.

“The Rooms To Go furniture store at the corner of Peachtree and Piedmont Roads in Buckhead has closed. The store, located at 3256 Peachtree Road, occupies one of the most attractive redevelopment corners in metro Atlanta. It will not be replaced with anything anytime soon, however, as permits filed by the Florida-based retailer indicate that they intend to undergo a nearly $2 million renovation.”

Thanks for the answer. I had hoped that this might be the long talked about R2G tower. We do need development to connect the Buckhead of Paces Ferry to that above Piedmont. Presently that is quite a distance of nondescript retail and negative aesthetics. Reminds one of the lost area between Downtown and Midtown which is now filling out nicely.

Video: South Downtown’s ‘Artisan Yards’ site could one day house 50-plus-story towers
19
The nearly 10-acre site is zoned to allow more than 10 million square feet of commercial and residential development

https://atlanta.curbed.com/2019/3/4/...-redevelopment

Over the next few years, downtown’s development map will surely witness tremendous densification.

Take, for example, the multi-billion-dollar Gulch overhaul, Underground Atlanta’s massive redevelopment, and the ongoing revival of South Downtown at large.

Well, those projects—by developers CIM Group, WRS, and Newport, respectively—aren’t the only ones promising to transform the face of the neighborhood

A lane is closed on West Peachtree (and they're putting in a pedestrian tunnel) for the Norfolk Southern headquarters in Midtown. Looks like this is moving quickly.

Of Interest-- ATT Breaking Up Turner--
'AT&T in a statement Monday, bluntly stated that Atlanta will remain a cog in its media operations: “The Atlanta office and operations will continue to exist. There are no plans to close it down.” How Atlanta operations will exist in terms of size and scope going down the road is not clear.'
